Our Monopolized World!

Every consumer in this world loves to have competition between company's to allow lower prices on goods. In fact, it is good for the economy to have competition as it is so desperately needed now. We need to have more choice in what were buying. Other wise were always getting ripped off. Economies can not function this way, they need to be effective to not fall in to disappear.

You may think, "What are you talking about! There are lots of different stores." Will, that is not really true. For example, you may think that Sport Mart and Sport Check are different but they are actually owned by the same person. How's that for competition. Either you got to your local Joe store that has higher prices, or you go to the King that has lower prices, which will eventually shut down the local Joe because of his lower priced goods. How is the Joe suppose to survive if no one shops at him. Or the Joe might actually have lower prices and start to slowy expand. Once one of these Kings see him expanding he will likly be bought out.

When the entire economy is controlled by a few people, how is it that we are ever going to be able to improve out lives? Higher prices, lower wages will make wealthy country's into a third world country.

Some thing needs to be done here people!

So is PS3 still Coming Out?

Isn't it funny to not hear all this news about the play station 3 coming to a store near you. In fact I have not really heard one more new thing about it, for the last couple of months. Is it a sign that the Xbox has won or is the PS3, really going to kick Microsoft's butt when it comes out. I guess only time will tell who will win.

Hint to Sony:
-- A little more affordable than the XBox would be nice( :-)) --

Are Drivers on the Road Getting Worse?

Here in a city with over 1 million people you see more and more people driving like idiots. A lot of us, including myself ask "Why is this?" Is it because of new technology such as cell phones and GPS devices distracting us from the road? Is it our true passion, to express the dare devil inside us. Or is it because traffic in the city is much greater, and does not allow us the freedom to express our selves in driving.

What ever the reason is, I think we should try to do our best to minimize it the most we can. Whether we have to realize that the road is not a play place to express our selves or a place to use new technology, we just need to concentrate on the road. Driving is just going to become more and more dangerous, not only to your self but other people. So each one of us, needs to try to do our best to make the streets a safer place.

Garmin 60CSx Review

Garmin 60CSx GPS - A Winner?

After getting my hands on a brand new Garmin 60CXs, I was very impressed when comparing it to my old Magellan 315 . By putting this up to the old one is like comparing a Cadillac to a Toyota Echo. Will this review is not about comparing the two because, it's just like comparing apples to oranges. So let's get on with the review just about the 60CSx.

When I first bought the unit, I read about some serious and not so serious issues, but later learned that these problems were fixed by firmware updates. After I updated the device, I found the GPS to be user friendly, so that even the most basic user can figure it out. The screen is large, and unless your inside, the backlight does not even need to be on, to easily been seen. With the new SIRF technology I can even pick up the signal inside my house, which helps a lot when you are in the woods for greater accuracy.

Buying the Topographical maps, for my country, improved the device just that much more. I was able to see the surroundings around me such as streams that I do not wish to cross, like when I'm geocaching. Also the topo maps can genrally be huge time saver, to decide on your path of choice.

The only real draw back to this unit, is the software on the computer. The software is fairly weak and should be more capable to download other information from the GPS, such as trip length and altitude meter, as well as being more user friendly. Also the lack of not really knowing how much memory is being used in the GPS, does not help either.

Overall I am mighty impressed with the GPS, it picks up the satellites in no time flat. The design looks like some thought has been put into it, and feels comfortable in your hand. Whether your exploring, geocaching, or doing a corn maze, this device is a good porformer for what ever your needs are. Even though it is a bit more expensive than it really should be.



Just a side note, When you purchase a $500 or more unit, you should probably invest a few dollars more into a screen protector, to prevent scratches that will likley occour.
